Spain is among the top countries for overseas property investments, an expert has claimed.

Amanda Lamb, presenter of television series A Place in the Sun, listed Spain as one of the top five countries for buying a property.

Ms Lamb claimed that Spain offers plenty of investment opportunities, alongside other popular choices France, Portugal, Italy and Florida.

Real estate firm Idealista recently suggested that property sellers in Spain are accepting lower offers.

Ms Lamb added that investors were beginning to regain their confidence in overseas markets.

She said: "Over the last couple of years everybody's been a little bit tentative, a little bit scared, but I think we are getting them back on the beat and the toe is being dipped back in the water.

"At the moment we're in a state of safety. For most people, we're going to stick to the countries that we know and love."
