73 arrests in Ibiza on drug-connected charges

THE GUARDIA Civil has announced that a staggering 73 arrests have been made during ‘Operation Dragon’, involving two separate channels of investigation carried out on the island of Ibiza this week, dealing a “major blow” to drug gangs operating in the area.

A large deployment of police on Wednesday made 60 arrests and performed 22 house searches in which various narcotics were seized such as cocaine, crystal speed, pills and hashish.

In ‘Operation Rula’, 13 further arrests were made following eight house searches. According to the Guardia Civil, most of the confiscated pills are known as ‘Pink Rock Star’, similar to those that allegedly killed a young British woman in July.
